Privacy Policy

status.buzz has no accounts, no logins and no advertising trackers. This page describes exactly what the site stores and for how long.
status.buzz is owned and operated by LuzLab LLC, which is the data controller for everything described below. Where this page says "we", it means LuzLab LLC.
The short version
- We do not ask for your name, email address or any account.
- Reports and searches are deleted automatically after 24 hours. Comments are handled by Disqus and are not covered by that window.
- We do not sell or share your data with advertisers or data brokers.
- We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are used. We run no advertising scripts.
- If you are in the EU, EEA, UK or Switzerland, analytics do not load at all until you accept them. Declining costs you nothing: every part of the site works the same either way.
What we store
Only two things you do are written to our database, and neither identifies you.
We also keep a record of the outages we observe, so service pages can show an outage history. Those rows describe the monitored companies, not you: when our probe first saw a problem, when it cleared, and what the company's own status feed said. They are kept for 90 days and contain nothing about visitors.

Comments are public by design. Please do not put personal information in them.
IP addresses
When you submit a report, search or comment, your IP address is held briefly in memory to enforce rate limits, so one person cannot flood the site or fake an outage. It is used for that comparison and nothing else. It is never written to our database and never linked to your submissions. It is discarded when the server restarts.
Cookies and local storage
Google Analytics sets its own cookies to measure traffic, and only once it has loaded. We set none of our own. Beyond that, the site uses your browser's local storage for a few things that never leave your device:
- your light or dark theme preference;
- a short cooldown timestamp so the report button cannot be clicked repeatedly by accident.
- your answer to the analytics question, so we stop asking. This is stored whether you accept or decline, because remembering a "no" is the only way to honour it on your next visit.
Clearing your browser data removes them.
Changing your mind about analytics
You can change this at any time, and withdrawing is exactly as easy as granting. If you decline after previously accepting, we also delete the Google Analytics cookies already in your browser rather than merely stopping new ones.
Third parties
- Service logos. Company icons are loaded from Google's public favicon service. That request tells Google which icon was requested. If you would rather avoid it, a content blocker will stop it and the site falls back to a plain letter badge.
- Comments (Disqus). Comment threads are hosted by Disqus under the shortname
status-buzz. Disqus sets its own cookies and collects its own data under its own privacy policy, which we do not control. On a service page it loads only when you scroll to the comments, so it never runs if you do not go that far. On pages that list services, such as the homepage, we also load Disqus's comment-count script so cards can show how many comments a service has. That one loads as soon as the list is on screen, which on a desktop is usually straight away. - Analytics (Google Analytics 4). We use GA4 to measure page views and general traffic patterns. It sets cookies and processes data under Google's own privacy policy, which we do not control. We do not use it for advertising or remarketing.
- Hosting. Like any website, our host processes standard server request logs in order to serve pages and defend against abuse.
We monitor other companies' services from the outside, using their public status feeds and public endpoints. We never send them anything about you.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them. Since we collect no personal information from anyone, there is nothing to request removal of beyond a comment.
Your choices
Because we store nothing that identifies you, there is no account to delete and no profile to export. Comments live with Disqus, so use your Disqus account to edit or delete them, or email us and we will remove one from the thread. Analytics are the one thing you can turn on and off yourself, using the button above.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, the date at the top will change with it.
